ALL EQUIPMENT WILL BE CLEANED OF ALL SOIL BEFORE ENTERING THE FOREST, DUE TO SOD SUDDEN OAK DEATH. - SUDDEN OAK DEATH QUARANTINE AFFECTS FOREST PROGRAMS FOUR NATIONAL FORESTS IN CA HAVE BEEN AFFECTED BY THE SUDDEN OAK DEATH (SOD) QUARANTINE IMPOSED BY ANIMAL AND PLANT HEALTH INSPECTION SERVICE: THE LOS PADRES, MENDOCINO, SIX RIVERS, AND SHASTA-TRINITY. THE DISEASE ITSELF HAS ONLY BEEN CONFIRMED ON THE MONTEREY RANGER DISTRICT OF THE LOS PADRES NATIONAL FOREST. DISPOSAL OF ROADSIDE VEGETATION WILL MASTICATE VEGETATION AND TREE TO THE GROUND. THE CHIPS WILL BE LEFT WHERE BRUSH/TREES WERE MASTICATED. THIS IS NOT A 100% CLEARING BECAUSE ANY TREE BEYOND 6 INCHES WILL BE LEFT. ON ALL INSIDE TURNS WE WOULD LIKE TO SEE IT CLEARED UP TO 15 FEET.
