Description of requirement

RESEARCH WILL BE CONDUCTED TO IDENTIFY AND RECOMMEND REVISED POLICY AND GUIDANCE TO ADDRESS THE MIGRATION FROM THE RTCA, INC., DOCUMENT RTCA/DO-178B DOCUMENT 'SOFTWARE CONSIDERATIONS IN AIRBORNE SYSTEMS AND EQUIPMENT CERTIFICATION' TO ITS SOON TO-BE-REPLACEMENT, RTCA/DO-178C. THE OBJECTIVE OF THIS TASK WILL BE TO REVIEW THE FAA ORDER 8110.49 (SOFTWARE APPROVAL GUIDELINES) AND AC 20-115B (ADVISORY CIRCULAR, DATED 1/11/93, SUBJECT: RTCA, INC., DOCUMENT RTCA/DO-178B) WITH REGARDS TO CHANGES PROPOSED IN THE LATEST RTCA/DO-178C. THE REVIEW SHOULD EXCLUDE CHAPTERS 2 AND 3 OF THE FAA ORDER 8110.49 AND LEAD TO THE IDENTIFICATION AND JUSTIFICATION FOR REVISING AND/OR ADDING NEW POLICY AND GUIDANCE APPLICABLE TO BOTH FAA ORDERS AND ADVISORY CIRCULARS. THE WORK WILL ADD 1,031 HOURS OF LABOR TO THE EXISTING CONTRACT AND ALSO INCLUDE $6,000 FOR TRAVEL. DTFACT-09-D-00017 TAS::69 8108::TAS
