IGF::OT::IGF OWOWS WATERSHED BRANCH IS SEEKING PRIMARY SPONSORSHIP THIS SESSION WOULD SERVE AS AN INTRODUCTION TO THE NEW LONG-TERM CWA SECTION 303(D) PROGRAM VISION AND PROVIDE AN OPPORTUNITY FOR DISCUSSION AND EXCHANGE OF IDEAS ON WHAT THESE CHANGES MIGHT MEAN TO DIFFERENT STAKEHOLDER AND CO-REGULATOR GROUPS. THE NEW VISION DETAILS ENHANCEMENTS MADE TO THE CWA 303(D) PROGRAM INFORMED BY THE EXPERIENCE GAINED OVER THE PAST TWO DECADES ASSESSING AND REPORTING ON WATER QUALITY AND IN DEVELOPING APPROXIMATELY 65,000 TMDLS. THIS NEW PROGRAM VISION ENHANCES OVERALL EFFICIENCY OF THE 303(D) PROGRAM, AND IN PARTICULAR ENCOURAGES FOCUSING ATTENTION ON PRIORITY WATERS AND PROVIDES STATES FLEXIBILITY IN USING AVAILABLE TOOLS BEYOND TMDLS TO ATTAIN WATER QUALITY IMPROVEMENT AND PROTECTION.
