Description of requirement

THIS HIFIRE EFFORT SHALL SUPPORT GROUND TESTING TO PROVIDE A FLEXIBLE AND EFFICIENT TEST BED TO CONDUCT PARAMETRIC TESTING OF THE HIFIRE FLOW PATH, FUEL INJECTION SCHEME AND ENGINE IGNITION TECHNIQUES THROUGH THE PLANNED FLIGHT TRAJECTORY TEST WINDOW, WITH USE OF A SURROGATE FUEL MIXTURE OF ETHYLENE AND METHANE. THE PURPOSE OF THIS TASK ORDER IS TO BUILD A NEW ISOLATOR AND REFURBISH HARDWARE FROM THE EXISTING HIFIRE DIRECT CONNECT RIG (HDCR DESIGNED AND FABRICATED UNDER TASK ORDER NNL07AC54T. NORMAL DAY TO DAY TESTING AT THE ELEVATED MACH NUMBERS AND HEAT LOADS IN THE LANGLEY ARC-HEATED SCRAMJET TEST FACILITY (AHSTF) HAS REQUIRED THIS ACTIVITY. THE CONTRACTOR SHALL MODIFY THE CURRENT DESIGN OF GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT (GFE), HDCR DELIVERED UNDER TASK ORDER NNL07AC54T.
