Description of requirement

THE PURPOSE OF THE WEB INFRASTRUCTURE SUPPORT SERVICES IDIQ CONTRACT IS TO ALLOW MULTIPLE IMPLEMENTATIONS OF HOST INFRASTRUCTURE(S) FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF EDUCATION S WEB-BASED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS, AND TO PROVIDE ONGOING OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE SUPPORT OF THE INFRASTRUCTURE. THIS PROJECT WILL PROVIDE A HOSTING ENVIRONMENT FOR WEB-BASED SOFTWARE APPLICATIONS FOR ALL THE PRINCIPAL OFFICES LOCATED WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT,AND THAT ARE RELATED TO THE DEPARTMENT S INTERNET SITE (WWW.ED.GOV). THE VENDOR WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR ASSIGNMENTS ASSOCIATED WITH OR DIRECTLY INVOLVING DIRECTION, PLANNING, DESIGN, TESTING, MAINTENANCE, OPERATION, MONITORING, OR MANAGEMENT OF THE WEB HOSTING SYSTEMS HARDWARE AND SOFTWARE.
