AS SMARTWAY MOVES BEYOND ITS TEN-YEAR ANNIVERSARY, THE PROGRAM REQUIRES NEW MESSAGING AND MARKETING STRATEGIES THAT ARE IN KEEPING WITH CURRENT TRENDS, NEEDS OF INDUSTRY, AND MEDIA MODES/MODELS (E.G., SOCIAL MEDIA, DIGITAL MARKETING, ETC.) SMARTWAY NEEDS TO: 1) DEVELOP A NEW PROFILE OF THE FREIGHT SECTOR AS IT STANDS NOW AND IS PROJECTED TO EXIST OVER THE NEXT FIVE TO TEN YEARS. 2) DEVELOP PERSONAS OF THE DECISION MAKERS THAT CAN BRING THEIR COMPANIES INTO THE SMARTWAY PROGRAM AS FULLY-ENGAGED PARTNERS, AFFILIATES AND ADVOCATES. 3) DESIGN AND IMPLEMENT FRESH MARKETING STRATEGIES THAT LEVERAGE THE MODES OF COMMUNICATION DECISION MAKERS ARE MOST LIKELY TO RESPOND TO, SUCH AS SOCIAL MEDIA POSTS, VIDEO MARKETING, INFORMATION GRAPHICS, PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENTS, ETC.
