Description of requirement

TO PROVIDE MECHANICAL AND THERMAL PROPERTY TESTING SERVICES FOR COMPOSITES MATERIALS AT TEMPERATURES RANGING FROM -60 F TO 500 F AND OVER. FOR THERMAL PROPERTIES WILL INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO THERMAL DIFFUSIVITY, SPECIFIC HEAT, THERMAL CONDUCTIVITY AND COEFFICIENT OF THERMAL EXPANSION. MECHANICAL PROPERTIES ARE TO BE TESTED ACCORDING TO ASTM STANDARDS. ASTM STANDARDS OF INTEREST INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO D3039, D5379, D3410, D5528, AND D6671. COMPOSITE MATERIALS INCLUDE POLYMER MATRIX COMPOSITES, CERAMIC MATRIX COMPOSITES, METAL MATRIX COMPOSITES AND HYBRIDS OF THE DIFFERENT TYPES. BESIDES RUNNING THE ACTUAL TESTS THE TEST LABS WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR SAMPLE PREPARATION FROM PROVIDED TEST PANELS. SAMPLE PREPARATION MAY INCLUDE CUTTING, TABBING, AND GAGING AMONG OTHER STEPS.
