Description
The purpose of this modification is to announce that, as a result of analyzing final workload data, four (4) states previously thought to contain wells for abandonment have been eliminated from this effort, as follows: AZ, GA, NH, PA. There is no work in these four states. As a result of this, the USGS has determined to regroup remaining states and summarize this project as follows: This requirement is to abandon approximately 1,450 wells, grouped into approximately 160 "projects." Projects range from 1 to 104 individual wells. One (1) contract will be awarded for each of the following states, for a total of eight (8) contracts: AK, CA, FL, IN, LA, MI, PR and WA. These opportunities will be set-aside for participation by small business concerns. Any offers received from other than small business concerns proposing to work in any of these states will be rejected. Two (2) additional contracts will also be awarded, covering the "central" region and the "northeast" region. The "central" region consists of KS, MT, ND, NE, UT, and WY. The "northeast" region consists of DE, MD, NJ, and NY. These opportunities are unrestricted. Offerors must propose all states comprising a region to be considered for a regional contract. As a result of this late change, the projected solicitation release date is delayed to 04 September 2009. Questions and comments should continue to be submitted to wells@usgs.gov. (ATN ER000B)
