Communicating Scientific Concepts Training

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Food Safety Inspection Service (FSIS) intends to negotiate solely with Wendi Eldh, 88 Juniper Hill Place NE, Albuquerque, NM 87122-1909 to obtain the following training services for the USDA FSIS Office of Public Health Service (OPHS) Labs: Communicating Scientific Concepts Training The Government intends to purchase services from Wendi Eldh to support continuing education by providing interactive training for OPHS employees in effectively communicating scientific concepts both orally and in writing. The services are sole proprietary to Wendi Eldh and she is the only known Women-Owned Small Business (WOSB) who can provide the required services to the current requirements. This procurement will be conducted under the authority of FAR 19. The period of performance will be for a twelve-month base period plus four 12-month option years. The contractor shall provide testing services that meet the following requirements: Deliver training on Communicating Scientific Concepts (aka “Storytelling for Scientists”) and lead small-group follow-up coaching sessions. Provide coaching and consultation on a variety of topics and scenarios. Deliver training on Plain Language writing skills to all staff who have not attended this training or who need a refresher course. Deliver training to staff and managers on how to design, develop, and deliver crisp messages and briefings to leadership (“Briefing Complex Information”). Deliver communications feedback training to supervisors and managers within OPHS, so they can communicate developmental feedback to their staff members. Train staff on how to use the OPHS Communication Job Aid. This is not a request for quotations or an announcement of a forthcoming solicitation. Request for copies of this solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged. The Government does not intend to pay for information received. All interested parties must respond within five (5) calendar days from the date of this notice. Written responses must provide clear and concise documentation indicating your firm's capability to provide the proprietary services. Verbal responses are not acceptable and will not be considered. If no viable responses have been received in response after Tuesday, May 23, 2023, 2:00 pm E.S.T to this announcement, USDA/FSIS shall negotiate solely with Wendi Eldh.
