Description
Small-Diameter Soil Cyclic Triaxial Testing System
THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR PROPOSALS
THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT SYNOPSIS ONLY
This Sources Sought is for the purpose of identifying firms that can meet the following Bureau of Reclamation Requirements.
The Bureau of Reclamation (BOR) has a requirement for Small-Diameter Soil Cyclic Triaxial Testing System, under NAICS 334519 - Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing.
GOVERNMENT DISCLAIMER
This notice is issued solely for market research and planning purposes. It is not a solicitation and does not obligate the Government to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The Government will not pay for information submitted in response. Responses may be used to assess commercial availability, technical feasibility, potential sources, socioeconomic participation, and acquisition strategy.
ANTICIPATED REQUIREMENT:
New Cyclic Triaxial System
- Triaxial testing system with cell.
- Electronic components to connect to existing 110V power.
- Pressure transducers.
- 10 kN internal load cell.
- Load ram assembly.
- Controller system.
- Data acquisition system.
- Hydraulic installation kit.
- Lifting system.
- Base pedestal, top cap, and preparation kits for 38 mm, 50 mm, 70 mm, and 100 mm specimens.
- On-specimen LVDTs with signal conditioning kit, consisting of two axial and one radial for each of the 38 mm, 50 mm, and 70 mm specimen sizes.
- Displacement transducers.
- Control software for advanced dynamic cyclic loading control, including load control.
Minimum Overall Requirements
- System shall directly interface with the GDS Instruments cyclic triaxial testing system already owned by Reclamation, including existing hardware and software.
- Performance specifications conforming to ASTM D3999.
- High-accuracy electromechanical actuators.
- 10 kN capacity axial load cell.
- Axial force accuracy of less than 0.1% of full-scale output and less than 0.4 kN for a 10 kN load cell.
- USB computer interface.
- 100 mm displacement range with a resolution of 0.2 micrometers.
- Operating frequency of 5 Hz.
- Ability to test specimens up to 101 mm in diameter.
- Ability to deliver cell pressures up to 2 MPa.
- Delivery of the entire system to Reclamation's Technical Service Center, Building 56, Door S-7, Denver, Colorado.
- Installation and setup shall be simple enough to be completed by Reclamation personnel.
Warranty, Experience, and Support Requirements
- The system shall include at least a one-year warranty provided by the supplier.
- The system must be provided by a supplier who can demonstrate successful construction, commissioning, and sale of at least 5 similar systems worldwide.
- Supplier must have qualified service technicians available for any ongoing support, maintenance and repair.
- The systems shall be plug-and-play, manufactured with new parts, and include current calibration documentation.
