Page 1 of 1 NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The VA North Texas Healthcare System (Research & Development) intends to negotiate on a sole-source basis with the Minneapolis Heart Institute Foundation (MHIF) pursuant to FAR 6.302-1(only one source) to obtain services to analyze IVUS and Angiographic Images to support an ongoing research clinical trial (DIVA Study CSP 571) conducted by the VA North Texas Health Care System. This trial has been ongoing since 2009. The Core Lab Staff from MHIF specialize in this type of Cardiology Core Lab Imaging Analyses (IVUS imaging analyses and angiographic imaging analyses) which is required by this project. MHIF also has familiarity working with this specific VA project through previous collaborations with the projects Chairman, and Co-Chair. These analyses are needed to complete the presentation of trial results, and to submit the results to medical journals and Clinicaltrials.gov for results reporting. A sole source is being contemplated to maintain research integrity and continuity of the project by utilizing trained experts who are already familiar with this research project. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes; however any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting this requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Friday, September 14, 2018, by 12:00 PM (NOON) ET. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
