In addition, performance of activities under this IDIQ and resulting task orders may include working within member states from the Common Market for Eastern and Southern Africa (COMESA) region in order to have a transformative impact on agricultural trade, food security and economic development in East Africa.

Description

The objective of the RISE IDIQ program is to develop stronger economies in the East Africa region through improved market systems, increased cross border trade, more competitive industries and a more market-oriented policy environment. The RISE IDIQ Contract and subsequent task orders will be the principal mechanism for implementing activities under the scope of work. In support of the US governments recently announced Prosper Africa initiative, the RISE IDIQ efforts will result in increased economic development, more self-reliant countries, improved livelihoods, especially for the most vulnerable populations, and a more secure, integrated East Africa region that is less vulnerable to shocks.
