Mobile Retardant Bases

The Government has a need to procure mobile retardant base services for loading long-term fire retardant into contracted and government owned aviation resources in support of the US Forest Service, Department of the Interior and various States wildland fire suppression programs. The solicitation requires that offers be capable of offering at least one of the Mobile Retardant Bases (MRB) identified in the Schedule of Items and the offeror must ensure that they provide equipment and personnel that meet the requirements identified in the solicitation. Services will include the following: MRB - Large Airtanker (LAT) MRB - Very Large Airtanker (VLAT) MRB - Single Engine Airtanker MRB - Helicopter MRB - Trailer Additional equipment to support MRBs The resulting contract will be an Indefinite Delivery, Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) Contract for one year with option to extend the term of the contract at the unilateral discretion of the Government for an additional four, one year options. The contractor shall propose daily rates and task orders will be issued predominately via resource orders on a closest available resource to the need for service. The services are being solicited on an unrestricted basis. Performance may be conducted at locations throughout the US and mobilization/demobilization costs to support services will be authorized as identified in the solicitation. The solicitation will be a Request for Proposals (RFP) issued in accordance with FAR Part 12, Acquisition of Commercial Items, and FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures as authorized by FAR Subpart 13.5, Test Program For Certain Commercial Items.
