Total Care Preventive Maintenance Plan for Getinge and Tuttenauer Sterilizers (includes inspections, callbacks, and all parts)

Notice of Contract Award based on a Limited Source procurement to provide preventive maintenance services under the Multiple Award Schedule (MAS) V797P-4452B. A delivery order has been issued to Getinge USA, Inc. of Rochester, NY for a firm, fixed-price performance based service contract with an indefinite delivery indefinite quantity (IDIQ) on the call-back service for the Technician. The period of performance for the Base Period is May 15, 2014 through May 14, 2015 and includes four (12) month Option periods. The limited-source justification is attached. This is for technical support and preventive maintenance on nine (9) Getinge sterilizers (all types) and one Watts Reverse Osmosis System for the USDA, ARS, NAA, Foreign Disease-Weed Science Research Unit (FDWSRU). The sterilizers were manufactured by Getinge and only they can service them due to proprietary information associated with the systems, their software, and so as not to void the warranty. In addition, Getinge now owns the Tuttenauer business. Therefore, only Getinge can maintain this system. Based on the Market Research, only one source is capable of providing the supplies and service at the level of quality required. The maintenance is required due to the high volume usage of the sterilizers which is essential to the research program. Market Research indicates that other companies' can't provide this service knowledge of the proprietary software and maintenance techniques without voiding the warranty clause. The USDA, ARS has solicited and negotiated with only one source is 10 USC 2304 (1) and FAR 6.302-1(a)(2) Only one responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements.
