Wetland Restoration Program Project - Chippewa County, Michigan

USDA, Natural Resources Conservation Service in Michigan plans construction of an earthfill dam and spillway located in Chippewa County, Michigan. Major items of work are as follows: Seeding (2 acres); Mobilization & Demobilization (lump sum); Compacted Earthfill Dam (4600 cubic yards); Topsoiling (5300 square yards); Rock Riprap over Geotextile (50 tons). The duration of the contract is approximately 45 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed. Any contract resulting from this solicitation will be a firm fixed price contract. The North American Industry Classification for this acquisition is 237990 and the size standard is $33.5 million. This solicitation is issued as a Small Business Set-Aside. The magnitude of proposed construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. The solicitation package along with the specifications and drawings will be issued as an Invitation for Bid and will be available for downloading from the Federal Business Opportunities website at www.fbo.gov on or around June 19, 2009. A site visit will be held on July 14, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. (EDT) at the Bruce Township Hall, 3156 East 12 Mile Road, Dafter, MI 49724. The bid opening will be held at the same location on July 22, 2009 at 10:00 A.M. (EDT). A Notice to Proceed is expected to be issued on or about July 31, 2009 with construction to being within 10 days of issuance. Liquidated damages will be assessed at $1,200.00 per day. The Davis-Bacon Act Wage Determination No. MI080090 dated June 5, 2009 applies. Notification of any changes to this solicitation (amendments) shall be made only on the internet.
