National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) evaluation site visits in support of all-trauma data collection

Notice of intent to solicit on the basis of limited competition for evaluation site visits in support of all-trauma data collection services for the National Electronic Injury Surveillance System (NEISS) with Esther Berren, Ray Colucci, Michelle Henley and Margo Yoder. It is not anticipated that any other available sources exist because of the unique requirement for data access. Services are to conduct orientation/evaluation and training visits in support of all-trauma data collection. Services shall include hospital visits, meetings, orientation evaluation for Emergency Room (ER) staff, examples of known product hazards, complete trauma history, record flow analysis, identifying problems, routing of charts, record review, public relations, exit interview, reports and travel to hospitals. The contractor must have five (5) years or more of extensive NEISS coding experience. The evaluators experience must include a coding historical error rate below 5% for a period of at least one year, a historical lag of 8 days or lower for a period of at least one year and a 95% or higher reporting rate measured by an on-site evaluation performed in the last calendar year. It is not anticipated that any other available sources exist because of the unique requirement for data access. Anticipated release of the Request for Quotation (RFQ) is on or around July 16, 2008.
