THIS IS A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS. Food Services Contractors: General Services Administration(GSA), Public Buildings Service, Acquisition Management Division, is seeking interested Food Services contractors for the on-site food service operation located at the Jacob K. Javits Federal Building, 26 Federal Plaza, New York, NY 10278. The food services are to be operated for the benefit of approximately 5000 employees and a varying population of between 1000 and 1500 visitors daily. Key operation includes serving full breakfast, morning coffee break, lunch and afternoon coffee break. The following are services provided: grilling, hot entr e, deli, salad bar, full breakfast and lunch. Wellness Program - GSA, is requesting food service contractors to proactively promote complimentary health and wellness initiatives in its facilities. The Federal Government cares about the health of its employees and strongly supports a multi-disciplined approach to wellness programs at Federal agencies. The Federal Wellness Plan includes sponsoring wellness competition, expanding employee fitness options, and enhancing cafeteria and vending machine offerings to promote fruits, vegetables and heart healthy choices to Federal employees as part of an overall lifestyle enhancement. Services also include, but not limited to management, administration, and other items necessary to perform all purchasing, inventory control, warehousing, food preparation/serving, cashier duties, maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards. The Government contemplates a 5 year base contract with 2 five option years.
