Intent to Sole Source

NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE: The Cherry Point Satellite Contracting Office, Marine Corps Air Station (MCAS), Cherry Point, NC 28533 hereby gives notice of their intent to award a purchase order to Value Tool & Engineering, Inc. 2629 Foundation Dr. South Bend, Indiana, 46628-4332, (Cage Code: 1DBF7) on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.106-1(b)(i), only one source reasonably available and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Fleet Readiness Center (FRC) East, MCAS Cherry Point, NC has a requirement to establish a purchase order to provide Calibration of Curvic Gauges. Market research has revealed this contractor is the only source capable of providing the required items. Therefore, the government intends to procure this material on a sole source basis from Value Tool & Engineering, Inc., the only authorized distributor for the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the machines. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. However, all responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within five (5) calendar days after the date of the publication of this synopsis, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
