A--Research and Development efforts in support of the Cicada Research Project

Note: The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, Rhode Island is NOT accepting quotes or proposals via submission through NECO. The Naval Undersea Warfare Center Division, Newport intends to award a Firm-Fixed Price contract on a sole source basis to Cicada Research, Storrs, CT for research and development efforts in support of the Cicada Research Project to set up cicadas for neuroganglia stimulation and to locate the appropriate experimental equipment to activate and obtain the cicada response to the external electrical stimulation. The basis of the sole source is that this vendor has technical personnel with expertise in Cicadas, specifically anatomical, behavioral, mating call identification and replication of many species of cicadas. The anticipated posting date of solicitation N66604-09-Q-3353 is on or about 12 May 2009. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of! intent is not a request for competitive proposals.- A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
