D--LANGLEY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY ENHANCED SERVICES II

The LITES II contract will provide IT support services in the areas of science and engineering applications, Center infrastructure applications not included in IT Infrastructure Integration Program (I3P) scope, data center support, business management applications support, and IT project management support. The IT services under LITES range from the more traditional IT services such as system administration to the more specialized IT that involves the development, maintenance and operation of science and engineering software used in modeling and simulation. Langley has a focused effort to revitalize its capabilities in modeling and simulation, as part of the Comprehensive Digital Transformation (CDT). The goal of CDT is to push the state of the art in modeling and simulation by increasing the level of physics modeled in the numerical simulations as well as increasing the speed and usefulness of the tools. This will allow a shift to more numerical modeling and simulation to answer complex problems. LITES II will play a role in the CDT from an IT perspective in the intersection of IT and science and engineering applications. The majority of work is directly in support of Langley at the Center; however, at times, other NASA Centers, Industry, and Government partners of Langley are also supported.
