ENHANCE, DEPLOY AND EVALUATE TRANSTAC SYSTEMS

The Intelligent Systems Div. at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to enhance, deploy and evaluate Spoken Language Communication and Translation System for Tactical Use (TRANSTAC) Systems in Iraq and Afghanistan. The specific tasks pursuant to this initiative are described in the Performance Work Statement included in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this work will be issued on or about March 20, 2009, using FAR Part 12, Commercial Item Acquisitions utilizing FAR Part 13 Simplified Acquisition Procedures. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price Purchase Order on or about Apr. 3, 2009 with an 8-mo. performance period and one 6-mo. option period. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov.
