The Chemical and Biochemical Reference Data Div. at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) has a requirement to support to improve the reliability of atmospheric models by improving the quality of data incorporated into them, so that atmospheric models can better be utilized by policymakers in making decisions relating to anthropogenic effects on the environment. The specific tasks pursuant to this effort are described in the Performance Work Statement included in the solicitation. It is anticipated that the solicitation for this procurement will be issued on or about August 19, 2009, under FAR Part 12, Commercial Item Procedures utilizing FAR Part 13.5 Simplified Acquisition Procedures – Test Program for Certain Commercial Items. The Government anticipates the award of a fixed price Purchase Order on or about September 7, 2009 with a 6 month performance period and two 1 year options. The competitive solicitation, all amendments, and any questions and answers related to this procurement will be made available via the internet at http://www.fedbizopps.gov. The solicitation will only be available via the internet at the above website. Potential offerors are responsible for accessing the website. Interested parties must respond to the solicitation in order to be considered for award of any resultant Purchase Order.
