Q--Esoteric Lab Testing, VAMC, Augusta, GA

The Charlie Norwood Veterans Affairs Medical Center, Augusta, Georgia intends to negotiate a sole source with Georgia Esoteric and Molecular Labs, LLC, 1120 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30912, for esoteric testing services for the period December 1, 2009 through November 30, 2010, with 4 one-year options to extend. The authority permitting other than full and open competition for this procurement is 41 U.S.C. 253(c)(1), as implemented by FAR 6.302-1, only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. This authority is cited and justification made based on the determination that the Government's minimum needs can best be satisfied by services available from one source. The resulting contract will be firm-fixed price and the NAICS code is 621511. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, if a firm believes it is capable of providing required services they must provide a company capabilities statement and evidence of providing these services to other customers. This information must be submitted to the Contracting Officer by October 22, 2009.
