WellNecessities began in March 1993, when the President, Lea Desmarteau recognized the need for sleep testing in infants and children in the Ark-La-Tex region. At the request of her current employer, she agreed to meet the much needed neonate sleep diagnostic services with the incorporation of WellNecessities. While maintaining her existing position as general manager she quickly grew her own company, eventually contracting all sleep services for her existing employer. Not only did the business require her full-time attention, but Lea also recognized the need to hire and train additional staff. WellNecessities has continually grown and now contracts with many area hospitals to perform sleep studies at their facilities. In October 2001, WellNecessities’ expansion moved into the Texas market with VitalSleep in Austin, Texas.
