The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Young Faculty Award (YFA) program aims to identify and engage rising stars in junior research positions in academia and equivalent positions at non-profit research institutions, particularly those without prior DARPA funding, to expose them to Department of War (DoW) needs and DARPA’s mission to create and prevent technological surprise for national security. The YFA program provides high-impact funding to researchers early in their careers to develop innovative new research that enables transformative DoW capabilities. Ultimately, the YFA program developes the next generation of researchers focused on national security issues. | Solicitation | 541715 | No Set-Aside | 10/23/2026 | 01/13/2027 | -
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Defense Sciences Office (DSO) is requesting information on the current state of the art and technological limitations of solid-state direct thermal-to-electric energy conversion technologies. We define solid state energy conversion as systems that convert a temperature differential directly into electrical energy without utilizing mechanical moving parts (e.g., pistons, turbines, or rotary alternators). This RFI seeks to identify the best possible solid state heat engine performance across a wide operating temperature range, factors that limit performance, and the most attractive use cases if these highly efficient solid state heat engines could be made today. This survey of limits, challenges and use cases will identify opportunities for research and development to inform potential program(s) in this area. | Market Research | 541715 | No Set-Aside | 10/23/2026 | 11/23/2026 | -
The Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency’s (DARPA) Information Processing Techniques Office (IPTO) is sponsoring a Proposers Day in support of the anticipated critical infrastructure resilience program, Nassau, and its anticipated Program Solicitation (PS). The purpose of this event is to provide information on the Nassau technical goals and challenges, address questions from potential proposers, and provide an opportunity for potential proposers to consider how their research may align with the Nassau program objectives. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to the Nassau PS. | Special Notice | 541715 | No Set-Aside | 10/20/2026 | 11/07/2026 | -
